Note from George H. W. Bush to Saddam Hussien, March 19, 2003
In 2006, The Onion co-founder Scott Dikkers and Peter Hilleren released Destined for Destiny, a fictionalized autobiography of George W. Bush packed with contradictions, over-the-top self-importance, and just the right amount of divine intervention.
My role was transforming their supplied Word documents into design mechanicals for Scribner Publishing. Beyond designing the cover and book interiors, I also handled interior graphics and photo edits including the delicate task of inserting Jesus Christ into key moments of GWB’s personal history.
This meant securing rights to historical photos from the George W. Bush Presidential Library, an institution that probably didn’t fully grasp our creative intentions.

For this project, I worked directly with the book's authors and oversaw design and production for the hardcover edition of the book. Additional graphics and photo editing by Colin Tierney.
